Living in the joy of Christ is the best way to declare to the world our gratitude for all the things we have received – both material and immaterial. After all, the joy that is best is the joy that is shared with one another.

If we seek to change the world then the enormity of that task silences us but if we see the world in one person then perhaps we can change that person’s world and in that way we can become God’s instrument. There isn’t that a worthwhile thought?

We humans  demonstrate the greatest expressions of our ingenuity in the finding and making excuses as to why something is beyond our reach. Instead, of being content in our deficiencies, why do we not aspire to reaching the “ one step” above and beyond  our goal?  Cast aside fear and what was impossible now becomes possible.

Give thanks for everything – things that exhilarate us and things that challenge us. Give thanks to the joy of life and the peace of eternal sleep. If we see no reason to give thanks then perhaps the fault lies within and not outside of us.

The devil can take many, many forms. He can make many, many promises. He can promise “the Moon and sixpence”. It doesn’t matter what it takes so long as he makes a deal with us; and what is in it for us? Why, we get one hell of a deal!
